The University Center for the Arts is seeking motivated students with a passion for customer service and a desire to work in a vibrant performing arts center. (Work Study)

The UCA Event Services staff is a team of 30 work-study students that provide a wide range of services to support School of Music, Theatre and Dance performances, and other events at the UCA. Paid training in all areas.

The UCA is located directly east of the central campus just across College Avenue. Personal transportation is advisable for this position.

BOX OFFICE: Assist patrons with ticket purchases for all music, theatre, dance, and community performances; build patron accounts in ticketing system; process cash, check, and credit card sales; print tickets; answer questions related to UCA events; complete sales audits and deposits.

HOUSE MANAGEMENT: Prepare venues for performances; scan tickets; assist patrons in finding seats; direct patrons to various venues; late seat patrons; solve audience and seating issues; monitor house and lobby areas during performances.

STAGE MANAGEMENT: Coordinate performance needs by interacting with faculty, conductors, directors, and performers; run basic lighting controls; complete rehearsal and performance reports.

STAGE CREW: Assist stage managers in preparing the stage for musical performances and any changes needed during the concert.

EVENT SUPPORT: Provide setup and administrative help for a variety of additional events at the UCA including lectures, conferences, receptions, meetings, and rehearsals. 

OTHER DUTIES: As required.

Experience in performing or technical production is preferred, but not necessary. Applicants should be highly organized, prompt, and be able to work well with the public. Students must be available at least 3 weekday evenings each week (6:15 pm-10:00 pm) and at least 4 weekend days & evenings each month. Weekday day shifts, including box office, are also available and will be scheduled based on student's class schedule and availability. Shifts during breaks and summer vacation are available but not required.
