Join the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) as a Website Maintenance Assistant and contribute to the dynamic field of Ag Communications. As a key member of the AgComm team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our external-facing websites and supporting internal CAS intranet sites. This position reports to the Website Communications Manager. 

This is a work-study position; applicant must be eligible for work-study to apply.

 

Qualifications

We are seeking a currently enrolled CSU student with the following qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and experience using WordPress
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic skills in digital content editing, including image and document editing
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to offer a high standard of customer service
  • Commitment to uphold the university’s Principles of Community
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment
  • Willingness and ability to use personal equipment for digital content creation and editing

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of visual brand standards
  • Experience with digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 AA)
  • Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Teams
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Acrobat

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to website update request tickets and assigned projects
  • Conduct routine website health updates, including fixing broken links and adding alt text
  • Edit written and visual website content, ensuring adherence to web accessibility standards and CAS brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with CAS communicators and clients on projects, working both independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain a clear workflow for job ticket status communication and consistent productivity in both in-person and remote work environments
  • Assist in maintaining CAS personnel directory updates and provide support to individuals in need
  • Manage file organization and naming conventions, and develop automations to enhance productivity for the AgComm team and content owners
  • Ensure consistent and appropriate communication of the CAS brand on websites
