The project manager will support the growth and development of CJVI as a new leader in community-engaged justice and victimization research. The project manager will serve as a thought partner to the advisory board and will facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration on a variety of projects. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate institute events as needed (set dates, reserve space, order catering, build slide decks, set agendas, create and send invitations, maintain guest lists, etc.). These may include but are not limited to:
    • Steering meetings and work days for advisory board
    • Networking and development functions for academic affiliates
    • Community stakeholder engagement events
    • Planning meetings for project-specific teams
  • Oversee project timelines, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with OVPR, RAO, and other stakeholder requirements
  • Serve as the first point of contact for communication with external partners and build working relationships with community-, government-, and university-based partners
  • Collect and maintain contact information for internal and external institute affiliates
  • Work with CLA IT to manage institute website and institute email
  • Maintain a database of RFPs and/or collaboration opportunities, and oversee timelines for proposal development
  • Work with CLA IT to develop an interactive web-based collaboration platform

 

Qualifications and education requirements: Current student status

 

Preferred skills: 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, with strong time management and organization skills
  • Experience working with community-based research partners
  • Experience managing or overseeing multiple projects with different timelines and personnel
  • Working knowledge of critical issues in justice and victimization research (including community-engaged methods) a plus
