Front Office Assistant
The department of Art and Art History is seeking a work-study student as an entry-level administrative assistant to support the functions of the front office. This is a work-study position.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as first line of contact for foot traffic (primarily students) and phone calls.
- Assist students with basic questions regarding Major/Minor program requirement.
- Monitor availability of handouts and maintain the organization of the front office.
- Perform basic office duties such as photocopying, filing, updating, or preparing documents and lists as needed, general email assistance, etc.
- Work with department chair and assistant to the chair for special projects and perform other tasks as the need arises.
Required Skills:
- Need to have experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Willing to work 10 hours per week.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in order to respond to the needs of diverse populations.
- Work independently and efficiently.
- Utilize available resources to critically solve problems and answer questions.
