Job Title: University Student Researcher- Arnold Lab

Job Description/ Requirements: 
• Seeking a self-motivated professional student employee with a genuine interest in research 
• Employee will assist with laboratory experiments for projects related to water quality 
• Student will attend weekly group meetings and help to maintain a clean and organized laboratory and maintain a safe laboratory environment. 
• Experience working in a cell culture lab is required as is familiarity with ELISAs, viability assays in addition to various other cellular output measurement assays.   
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must 
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• May work 5-10 hours per week; Must be willing to work during fall, spring semester and possibly summer

Job Duties/ Responsibilities: 
• Work independently and efficiently; use available resources to complete tasks  
• Familiarity using Prism and Excel and Word to analyze data 
• Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, and communicate changes in work schedule  
• Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines with successful completion of work. Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting  
• Provide written or oral reports to supervisor and present findings at weekly lab meetings/presentations

Job Qualifications: 
• Required Proficiency in: excel, word, prism, cell culture, water sampling.  
• Preferred Proficiency in: lab management, study design, algae identification

Number of openings: 1

Number of hours per week: 5-10

Salary: $15.00/ hour
