- Become proficient in multiple database software platforms (Excel & Proficio) Engage in planning and management for long-term projects
- Observe and interact with colleagues from other museum departments
- The intern will be a part of a cohort of interns and will have the opportunity to explore other departments and museums on guided outings and tours.
Duties Include:
- Renumber and tag deaccessioned objects in the General Collection
- Physically assist with number removal and the packing of objects for transfer
- Attend departmental meetings
- Update object records in Proficio
- Coordinate with the Registrar and Curator on weekly needs and schedules
Qualifications include: Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Recent graduates of 9 months or less may also apply. Awareness of the Microsoft platform. Effective at verbal and written communication. Ability to walk carefully and carry small-to-medium objects. Interest in history or museum studies (preferred).
Wage & Hours: Starting Mid-May or early June depending on student availability. Grant-funded stipend available in the amount of $1500.00 paid out upon completion of the internship. The internship will require a minimum of 150 hours of work in order to be considered completed. Flexible schedule, between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, approximately 10-20 hours per week.
