Position Summary:
This position will gain valuable management and leadership experience in a high-volume food service production and catering operation working in the Central Production Kitchen on campus. The Kitchen Student Manager is responsible for managing student staff, maintaining HACCP records, ensuring inventory is complete, training students on how to read recipes and use equipment, working on the production floor, and completing administrative tasks. The kitchen student manager will be an expert in policies and procedures for the department concerning hourly employment. The position will be responsible for training and guiding new Student Team Members and Student Supervisors as well as ensure follow-up training is delivered throughout the duration of employment.

Required Job Qualifications:
- One year's experience within Residential Dining Services or equivalent food service experience.
- Currently enrolled in a higher education degree seeking program
- Valid US driver's license for at least 1-3 years
- Ability to work 20+ hours a week

- Morning availability
Essential Job Duties:
The Kitchen Student Manager is responsible for
- Assisting in the daily operations of the dining center, to include but not limited to scheduling, hiring, discipline, management and supervision of Student Team Members and Student Supervisors. As well as maintaining HACCP records, ensuring inventory is complete, working on the production floor and completing administrative tasks.
- Work closely with full-time staff and student supervisors to make certain daily schedules help to accomplish all operational tasks in a timely manner. Includes training students on how to read recipes and use equipment as well as assigning duties to team members, checking in hourlies, and ensuring completion of daily tasks.
- The Kitchen Student manager will be an expert in policies and procedures for the department concerning hourly employment. This position will be responsible for training and guiding new Student Team Members and Student Supervisors as well as ensure follow-up training is delivered throughout the duration of employment.
- Meet daily scheduling requirements including working a minimum of 20 hrs/wk and specified shifts as described by the manager.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
