R2026102413 Bilingual Course Build Assistant (Mandarin)

Position Summary

The Learning Design Teams seeks a bilingual (English and Mandarin) student (graduate or undergraduate) to assist with basic copy editing of course materials and building content in Canvas for online courses. Responsibilities include correcting grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors, ensuring citations are written according to standards, checking links/URLs in courses for functionality, creating basic pages in Canvas, embedding videos, and adding files. We are looking for a student who is detail-oriented, familiar with standard English and Chinese punctuation, grammar, and style, basic Canvas skills, and willing and excited to learn.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Mandarin fluency.
  • Proofreading and editorial skills with an outstanding sense of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience creating pages, adding files, and content in Canvas.
  • Experience embedding videos, HTML.
  • Experience editing PDFs using Adobe.

Essential Duties

  • Correcting grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors.
  • Writing citations according to copyright standards.
  • Creating pages, quizzes, and assignments in Canvas.
  • Checking course documents for accessibility and correcting as needed.
  • Complete work in a timely manner and track progress on tasks.
