Position Title: Part-Time or Summer Engineering Intern (Electrical, Mechanical)

Location: Arvada, CO

Timing: This is a part-time internship with an immediate start date. Expected ~20-30 hours per week commitment.

US Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card required

Rate: $15.16/hr - $19.29/hr

Our products are used in a variety of applications, providing visual output for medical, aviation, aerospace, marine, automotive, industrial controls and defense related products. 

 

Position Summary:

This position is a unique role for a candidate with an interest in electrical or mechanical engineering. The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with project management experience involving many people. This role will provide you with invaluable experience across the entire project life cycle from planning through delivery and project closure. You will be expected to work closely with key decision makers and support business leadership and workstream owners. The position is well suited for a self-starter who is energetic and motivated to have a hands-on engineering experience in an organization. This role is specifically related to cable harnesses and wire assemblies. 

Possible areas of responsibility are widely varied, including:  

  • Participate as a cross functional team member with quality, research and design (e.g., CAD Design of 2D and 3D engineering drawings, luminance and tolerance calculations, testing procedures and fixtures, etc.)
  • Supporting the development of various manufacturing production tasks (e.g., cables and wiring harness assembly, using additive or subtractive manufacturing equipment like CNC Vertical Mills, CNC Horizontal Mills, 5-Axis, Lathes, 3D printing, etc.)
  • Develop an understanding of developing bill of materials, project management, problem analysis, and how to design and deploy new technologies and process improvements
  • Provide engineering support assistance for quality issues as required
  • Assisting in other duties as assigned in engineering team

 

Additionally, knowledge of SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, etc. is a plus.
