Systems Engineering Intern

Job Summary:

The Systems Engineering Intern is responsible for supporting the engineering team with designing, implementing, and maintaining integrated software and hardware systems within the organization.  The Systems Engineering Intern collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the organization’s technological needs and drive innovation in both software and hardware domains.  The Systems Engineering Intern will also be responsible for assembling components and sub-assemblies and support assembly technicians.

Kew Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to assemble components and sub-assemblies.
  • Review existing systems and propose improvements or upgrades to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability across both software and hardware layers.
  • Configure and deploy software applications, operating systems, firmware, and hardware components to support system infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve root causes in a timely manner, considering both software and hardware aspects.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to maintain an accurate and up-to-date knowledge base for both software and hardware components.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and assembly areas.
  • Assist with the testing and validation of assembled products as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or computer science at an accredited university or college.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production demands.
  • Experience with AC/DC wiring, devices, electromechanical devices and electro pneumatic devices a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with LabView, PLC or other programming experience a plus, but not required.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, full-time
