Community Outreach Corpsmember

The AmeriCorps Community Outreach Corpsmember (ages 18-25) will
assist the University of Minnesota Extension Regional Sustainable
Development Partnership (RSDP) in the Natural Resources Focus
Area. Projects will link University of Minnesota Extension
educators and RSDP partners to help communities develop climate
resiliency strategies. The member will attend meetings in person
or by conference call with natural resources work groups and
assist in gathering information through interviews, online media
and peer reviewed journals.

JOB DETAILS:
-- Location: Crookston, MN
-- AmeriCorps service position (ages 18-25 preferred)
-- Term dates: January 9 – December 14, 2018
-- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
typical. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
-- Stipend: $1690/mo
-- Education award: $5815 upon successful completion of term

QUALIFICATIONS:
-- Previous experience, college coursework and/or degree in
environmental education, communication, conservation education,
or a relevant field.
-- Working knowledge of the ecology of Minnesota’s biomes and
Minnesota basins and watersheds.
-- Active interest in climate science and climate adaptation
strategies.
-- Ability to communicate effectively in electronic, written and
oral media.
-- Experience using social media for communications and
outreach.
-- Desktop publishing and photography skills.

REQUIREMENTS:
-- 18-25 years old.
-- Full term of service must be completed in order to receive the
education award.
