Machine Learning Engineer Intern

MUST BE GRADUATING IN 2026

Machine Learning Engineer — Intern

About Atreyus AI

Atreyus is building the AI platform for construction and building materials — a $12T industry that most software companies won't touch, and the rest don't know how to serve. Our agents solve real world problems and run the operational workflows that keep distributors and contractors moving.

We're growing fast and we innovate faster. We're solving problems no one else has solved, and we ship at a pace most companies can't match. The bar here is high, and it has to be — we only take the best of the best. If you bring the effort, the drive, and the technical chops to back it up, you'll learn more in three months here than you will in a year almost anywhere else.

What you'll actually work on

You'll sit with our engineering team and ship ML systems into production. Real problems on the table right now:

  • Extracting structured data from architectural floor plans and construction drawings
  • Improving our voice agent's performance on noisy job-site calls and industry vocabulary
  • Document understanding  vendor spec sheets
  • Agentic workflows — multi-step reasoning with tool use across customer data and pricing systems
  • Evals, fine-tuning, and the proprietary model infrastructure we're standing up this year

You won't be fetching coffee or labeling data alone in a corner. Interns ship.

What we're looking for

  • Currently pursuing — or recently graduated with — a degree in CS, ML, AI, math, or a closely related field
  • Solid Python; comfortable with PyTorch or TensorFlow, plus the modern LLM tooling (transformers, LangChain/LangGraph, vector stores, eval frameworks)
  • Real projects you can walk through — coursework, research, open source, side projects, Kaggle, anything where you actually built something and it worked
  • You think you're one of the best in your program. We need you to prove it.
  • Work ethic is non-negotiable. We move fast, ship constantly, and don't have time for people who need to be managed into doing their job.
  • Bonus: experience with computer vision, OCR, speech models, or document AI

Details

  • Location: Remote (US-based only)
  • Term: Summer 2026, with the potential to extend
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Start date: June 2026

How to apply

Send the following to recruiting@atreyus.ai:

  • Your resume
  • A short note on the most technically ambitious thing you've built — what it does, what was hard, what you'd do differently
  • A few lines on why you're a fit here — why you're a go-getter, and the kind of change you'd make on a team like ours

Want to stand out?

Most applicants will send a resume and call it a day. Don't be most applicants. Build us something or send a Loom walking through how you'd approach a real problems. The best people don't wait for permission to prove they belong.
