Social Media Marketing Student Job Summary

The Career Management Center (CMC) is seeking a creative and motivated student to strengthen our marketing efforts through social media. This position will play a central role in creating original marketing content that engages students and stakeholders by creating awareness for CMC services and events, with a primary focus on social media strategy, messaging, and audience growth and engagement across platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn.

 

Applicants are not expected to be experts in all areas of social media marketing; successful candidates bring strong foundational marketing and social media skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to incorporate feedback.

 

This position works 10-15 hours per week, with flexible hours between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with some evenings based on event needs. Preference may be given for students with ability to start by August 3, 2026 (or sooner) and/or continue working into future semesters.

 

What You'll Do:

Create platform-specific social media content and campaigns that enhance the CMC's communication and marketing efforts.

Collaborate with College of Business student groups, CMC staff, and other areas of the College of Business, to identify stories, messages, and engagement opportunities for social media.

Draft content posting schedules and messaging aligned with CMC priorities.

Follow creative direction to ensure branding and messaging is effective and compliant.

Support CMC team and collaborate with student team members during events as needed (mostly evenings, per the student’s class schedule).

Qualifications:

Required:

Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at Colorado State University.

Experience using social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn.

Strong attention to detail.

 

Preferred:

Currently pursuing a degree in the College of Business.

Experience with customer service, marketing, or public relations (this can include internship experience).

Ability to communicate messages and information to a wide range of audiences.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.

Experience with photography, videography, or content creation.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to start by August 3, 2026 (or sooner) and/or continue working in future semesters.

 

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour. 

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week, with flexible hours between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with some evenings based on event needs.
