 Job Description 

 The primary purpose of this position, as an advanced technologist, is to provide laboratory support in all areas of molecular testing. Molecular testing is supported by the Molecular Diagnostic/Epidemiology Laboratory Unit, under the direction of the Medical Laboratory Supervisor II.

 
This position will serve as the Bioterrorism and Emerging Pathogens Specialist (BTEP) in the Molecular Diagnostic/Epidemiology Unit. The specialist will provide support for Laboratory Response Network and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement activities and initiatives.
 
Work is performed at biosafety levels 2 and 3 using proper containment protocols and personal protective equipment as required.

Degrees wanted: Bachelor's degree and/or above in the fields of medical technology, clinical laboratory science, microbiology, biological science, or chemistry. Degrees outside of these fields will not be considered due to federal regulations (candidates must meet CLIA '88 requirements for testing personnel in a high complexity laboratory).

No engineering or social science majors, please!
