Summary:

Sg2’s Associate Rotational Program (SARP) was created to develop strategic and trusted advisors for the future of health care and is designed for high-potential individuals who want to have an impact on that future. As part of SARP, you will have the opportunity to work directly with Sg2 leaders to help health care organizations solve their strategic issues, as well as work across various business units to understand the comprehensive services Sg2 provides to our members. This is a 2 year-full time position located in our Skokie, IL office designed for recent graduates with an advanced degree. The program will kickoff in the Summer of 2018.

Rotations will include opportunities in intelligence/research and synthesis; analytics/data, methodology and metrics; and consulting/client problem-solving. The combined strength of our services is unique to Sg2 and provides our clients with the knowledge, data and expertise to change the face of health care.

Sg2’s Associate Rotational Program will provide you with tools, knowledge and experiences to help you excel, including:

  • Mentorship: Sg2 and Vizient leaders will work with you to share their knowledge and experiences working with hospital systems to improve their strategic decision-making.
  • Training: You will receive customized learning, have an opportunity to visit members/clients and engage with other businesses within the Vizient organization.
  • Experience: As part of your cross-team, on-the-job training, you will participate in client engagements, create content, and present data as a valued contributor, working directly with our members and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

Associate Consultants will work across functions:

  • Intelligence:
    • Research, synthesize and write succinct reports in response to client requests along with input from their project team and/or managers
    • Work closely with Sg2 experts and client service team to ensure high quality, timely responses to client requests both in writing and over the phone
    • Provide appropriate levels of thought leadership (based on level of experience) working closely with team members to devise recommendations and strategies for our members/clients
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure execution and delivery of original thought leadership and tactical advice/solutions to our clients across a variety of platforms
  • Analytics:
    • Help to develop analytical solutions to client problems
    • Build knowledge of Sg2 analytical tools and how they can be leveraged to answer the strategic questions of our clients
    • Ensure clients receive value from Sg2 growth and performance analytics and resources through the creation of presentations and analyses while working with a team
  • Consulting:
    • Participate in client interviews/working sessions (internal and external) to surface relevant information
    • Execute and summarize analyses in client-ready format, ensuring it is ready to be incorporated into a longer “story” or explained in working sessions
    • Synthesize and translate research and analytical results into clear and compelling recommendations
    • Participate in internal workgroups to develop new consulting offerings and improve team operations

Qualifications:

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a consistent record of professional and personal achievement. Creativity, initiative, resourcefulness, teamwork and an entrepreneurial spirit are a must. Successful candidates will have evidence of the following skills and knowledge:

  • Master’s degree in an applied health care field (eg, health care administration, health care policy) strongly preferred
  • Strong writing skills: Demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of research and studies into digestible health care business language for health system corporate strategy departments or c-suite-level leaders
  • Project management skills: Experience participating in projects of different sizes and managing workstreams working with input from various stakeholders; detail-oriented and efficient with time management
  • Flexibility: Comfort working with interdisciplinary teams, including team members with varied backgrounds (eg, PhDs, clinicians, MHAs, MBAs) and employees or clients at various business levels combined with a willingness to take on any task, no matter how small, in order to complete the project
  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate technical and analytical information to clients and internal Sg2 teams in verbal and written formats
  • Consultative mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a focus on customer/client satisfaction
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (eg, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype) and comfortable with databases; familiarity with Google, Sharepoint or other knowledge management tools a plus
  • Prior work experience preferred in a hospital/health system or health care–related company
