SOAR Wildlife Center 'Student Intern'
SOAR Wildlife Center is looking for
student interns!
Last year, for the first time, SOAR opened it's doors to 4 SOU interns and it
was such an amazing experience for all involved, we are continuing to offer
internships!
SOAR Wildlife Center is located in the Greensprings- 23 miles South of Ashland.
It is 10-15 degrees cooler in the summer which is amazing for the wildlife
babies in our care. SOAR is permitted through ODFW and is the only wildlife
center that rehabilitates fawns in a 500 mile radius! We also rehabilitate;
raccoon kits, skunk kits, squirrel kittens, fox cubs, fishers, weasels, and
other various mammals, amphibians, and reptiles. SOAR is only open from
May-September because we only take in wildlife babies that are sick, injured,
or orphaned. We do not have any full-time residents (wildlife), other than our
educational ambassador Majik the crow, and 2 sugar bears!
Because SOAR is a non-profit center, and because we are unique in Jackson
County, we offer an amazing learning experience where interns will learn:
*Wildlife Medical Management
*Wildlife Patient Care
*Wildlife Procedures
*Wildlife Enrichment
*Database Entry
*Business Management
*Fundraising Coordination
*Event Coordination
*Customer Service
*Public Relations
*Social Media Marketing
*Finance
*+ much more!
With SOAR you get to learn about the fluffy and cuddly wildlife babies of
the area, plus you learn skills that will help you with your future
careers! Most majors and minors are welcome because at SOAR Wildlife
Center, the job knowledge and duties are varied and many!
We are interviewing in Mid-April for the internships to start in Mid-May- so
make sure to fill out the forms on our website: SoarWildlife.org (under
Volunteers- fill out the Student Intern Form).
