Medical Technologist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Technologist in our American Fork Laboratory. This position makes a significant contribution to patient care by performing comprehensive lab testing for a variety of clinical specialties (with the exception of blood bank and microbiology) utilizing specialized training and knowledge. The right candidate will be quality driven, results focused and have a passion for creating a positive team-centered environment.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Performs all clinical testing competently. Organizes workload effectively and works quickly with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Has ability to exercise independent judgment, problem solve, troubleshoot analyzers, make decisions and use discretion in reporting/distributing results. Thorough knowledge of CLIA and OSHA regulations.
  • Complies with all quality assurance policies, CLIA and OSHA regulations and written protocols.
  • Maintain equipment, instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients, families and staff. Answers questions from phlebotomists, physicians, nursing staff and patients as needed.
  • Works with the laboratory director to ensure adherence to all laboratory policies.
 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Lab Science or Medical Technology.
  • Certification by an national registry board (ASCP, NCA, BOR or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of general clinical lab testing, quality assurance, proficiency testing and compliance guidelines.
  • Familiarity with lab instrumentation for chemistry, hematology and immunoassay.
  • General phlebotomy skills
This position will rotate weekly with the 2 other techs across 3 shifts. Shift 1: Mon-Fri 7:00AM to 3:30PM Shift 2: Mon-Fri 10:30AM to 7:00 PM Shift 3: Mon-Fri 8:00AM to 4:30PM
