About The Environmental Sciences Unit:
The Environmental Sciences Unit of the NC State Laboratory of Public Health is currently accepting applications for a Chemist II in the Organic Chemistry (OC) section. The NCSLPH Environmental Sciences laboratories offer comprehensive analysis of drinking water and other environmental samples through microbiological, inorganic, organic and radiochemical testing.
About This Opportunity:
This position will perform routine analyses for pesticides, herbicides and other organic contaminants in water samples. In addition, the Chemist II will serve as lead chemist in the OC laboratory acting as back-up to the other chemists in this laboratory, will assist with implementation of new methods into the laboratory and training staff accordingly, and will provide assistance with troubleshooting of method and/or instrumentation problems.
This position will also serve as the Quality Assurance coordinator for the OC laboratory responsible for tracking QC trends in the laboratory.
The Chemist II will serve as supervisor in their absence.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree and/or above in chemistry.
