The IT department at Eagle River Water and Sanitation District is responsible for delivering the best support possible for all IT issues. This enables ERWSD to do what it does best- provide efficient and reliable water and wastewater service to our customers.
We are looking for an energetic and positive IT professional to join our team as a Systems Administrator. This position will manage and support ERWSD server and data infrastructure for 24x7 District operations, as well as manage and troubleshoot problems with all physical and virtual server related deployments and equipment. 
An ideal candidate for this role has a passion for learning and is committed to developing and applying their skills. This role is not a good fit for a lone wolf who prefers to work alone but is perfect for a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.

The Day to Day:
  • Support: Works with the I.T. Support team to resolve all technical support inquiries for the District (over 115 users at 6 locations) in a friendly and timely manner. Participate in 24 x 7 on call rotational basis.
·        Solutions and Troubleshooting: Diagnoses system and network issues identified by District end users to resolve problems quickly. Works with application vendors to provide a reliable infrastructure for applications in a 24x7 environment. Collects and validates data, develop and justify solutions, negotiate with end users, implement solutions and support District systems and protocols. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems. Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to solve technical problems as they relate to our existing hardware and software systems and develop an understanding of the root cause of problems to devise a permanent solution. Configures and installs hardware and software. Develops troubleshooting and installation procedures. Collects data and performs analysis as needed.
·        Maintenance: Assists with the design, implementation, and maintenance of on-site and off-site servers, database environments, and disaster recovery backup deployments to assure reliability and 100% uptime for critical operations. Responsible for maintenance and monitoring of servers, backup systems, and IT department related application systems. Conducts routine support and maintenance of the District’s IT systems while supporting all end users and is part of the team responsible for front line technical support problems and issues. Isolates recurring issues and devises solutions to prevent future occurrences within the guidelines set by the IT Division. Maintains and/or coordinate maintenance of applications that support or are supported by the SCADA & Admin systems.
·        Database Administration and Analysis: Maintains a comfortable skill set in working with SQL database environments.
·        Cybersecurity: Provide support of industrial process controls and security
·        Supports protection strategies for security, such as contractor access, strategic vendor access, and contract reviews.
·        Team Dynamics: Comes up with creative ideas to bring to the team. Maintains a positive attitude and works cooperatively with IT team and District employees, vendors and contractors. Maintains good public relations. This role provides mentoring and leadership to other members of the IT staff. In addition, this individual will be the escalation point for other team members.

·        Education and Experience Requirements can be met by the following:
o   Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field from four-year college or university and three years related experience of training
o   Equivalent combination of education and experience.
·        5 years minimum working experience within an Active Directory environment required.
·        5 years minimum working experience with monitoring/managing virtual environments required.
·        5 years minimum working experience with Network Storage solutions and server hardware required.
·        5 years minimum working experience with Microsoft Windows Server technologies required.
·        Experience with VMWare strongly preferred.
·        5 years minimum working experience with Shoretel Phone systems or other related phone systems preferred.
·        5 years minimum experience configuring/troubleshooting Microsoft SQL environments strongly preferred.
·        5 years minimum working experience with Microsoft Exchange and/or Office365 preferred.
·        Industry technical training certifications such as VCP-DCA, A+, N+, MCSA, NCSA, etc. certifications highly desirable.
·        Must be comfortable with troubleshooting and working independently with technology.
·        Able to maintain confidentiality and appropriately communicate sensitive information.
·        Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the first six (6) months of employment.
·        Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Driver’s license and be insurable under District standards.
The pay range for this role is $27.30 - $40.94. Hiring wage depends on qualifications and experience.
