Cattle Health Assistant
Adams Land and Cattle, LLC has an exciting opportunity at our South Feedlot located within our Cattle Health Department.
This person will be responsible for:
- Assisting mobile hospital team with all cattle doctoring, temping, cattle movement, and necropsy.
- Conducting post-mortem examinations.
- Orientating chutes in the mobile trailer.
- Handling antibiotics used to treat cattle.
- Sorting and transporting cattle.
- Collecting and inputting data into computer.
- Operating equipment (e.g. tractors, loaders) in a safe manner.
- Performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- Ability to use analytical techniques for problem solving, coordination, and decision making.
- Driven, organized, action-orientated, and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Individual must be team-oriented.
- Computer skills and knowledge.
- Previous cattle and BQA experience.
- Commitment to safety and quality culture.
This position requires:
- Individual must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Exerting 50-100 pounds of force rarely; 25-50 pounds of force occasionally; 10-20 pounds occasionally. Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, crawling, stairs, reaching/handling/grasping occasionally; kneeling/crouching rarely.
