Fermilab is America’s premier laboratory for particle physics and accelerator research, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. We support discovery science experiments in Illinois and South Dakota and at locations around the world, including Canada, mountaintops in Arizona and Chile, and the South Pole.

The Helen Edwards Summer Internship program is is a ten-week summer internship for students majoring in physics and engineering at universities in Europe. This internship offers the opportunity to work with Fermilab scientists and engineers at the frontier of scientific research in the physics and technology of particle accelerators.

Eligibility:
- Current accredited European university/college enrollment and completion of at least one full year at the time of application
- Minimum 4.0 GPA on a 5-point scale
- At least 18 years of age
- Conversational and written English fluency
- Proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States
- Proof of medical insurance while at Fermilab

- Housing: Housing arranged and paid for by host laboratory.
- Transportation: Paid round-trip airfare, or mileage reimbursement if permanent address is more than 50 miles from host laboratory.
