Telephone Monitoring Coordinator - Job ID: 374489
The New York City Department of Correction Applicant Investigation Unit seeks a candidate to serve as a Telephone Monitoring Co. Under the direction of the Telephone Monitoring Supervisor, with latitude to exercise independent judgement and initiative, the Telephone Monitoring Investigator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
• Conduct investigative interviews
• Identify and review posts and photos relating to illegal activity, gang membership and/or affiliation or drug use
• Identify and review posts relating to objectionable content (e.g. racist or sexist content)
• Identify and review posts supporting or discrediting past education and employment
• Review social media forums for verbiage (statements and comments)
• Search and or identify undisclosed social media profiles and screen names associated with target individual
• Prepare detailed, comprehensive investigative reports
• Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
• Work closely investigative counterparts within AIU
• Conducting investigative research including internet sources and database records
• Assisting in pre-employment due diligence
• Maintaining office files and records
Minimum Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook and overall computer literate
• Strong familiarity with social media on all platforms
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to think, troubleshoot and problem-solve creatively
• Ability to work well either alone of as part of a team
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
