Homelessness Support

Dominican Volunteers work to break the cycle of poverty and provide compassionate support to people and families experiencing homelessness, providing them access to food and shelter. Volunteers can serve as a Shelter Coordinator (Hotel Hope: New Orleans, LA), mentors for children (Casa de Esperanza: Houston, TX) or as a Pastoral Team Member (Christopher Homes: New Orleans, LA). Being a Dominican Volunteer is a life-changing experience that is challenging and deeply rewarding; DVs make significant and lasting impacts where they serve.

All living expenses covered (room & board, food, transportation, health insurance, etc.) and monthly stipend provided. Dominican Volunteers live in diverse, intergenerational, intentional communities with peers and Dominican Sisters and live out the four pillars of Ministry, Community, Prayer & Study.

Requirements to Be a Dominican Volunteer:
Must be 21 years of age and have completed 2 years of college. Dedication, flexibility, openness to diversity in all forms, spiritual curiosity and deep compassion. *DACA and international students are very welcome! Please call with any questions.
