Cargill Diversity Leadership Summit Summer 2019 / Grain Sales Intern 2020

Those who successfully pass a first-round phone interview will be selected to attend the Diversity Leadership Summit. Applicants will be notified as to whether they are selected to attend the program in August 2019. If you are selected to attend, your final interview for a potential internship will take place during the Diversity Leadership Summit.

Cargill Diversity Leadership Summit – Minneapolis, MN
Cargill’s Diversity Leadership Summit is a two-day program in August 2019 that focuses on diversity and inclusion, and leadership development. During the two days, attendees may: 
• Gain invaluable exposure to various Cargill opportunities and careers
• Interact with Cargill leaders across the company
• Participate in activities which may include: developmental workshops, panels, and case studies
• Hear from our Business Resource Groups and learn about the value of diversity and inclusion at Cargill
All attendees will have a guaranteed internship interview and will return to school with the chance of a job offer in hand!
Internships at Cargill

Grain Sales Internship:
 
As a sales intern you will be exposed to many facets of business operations and will have access to hands-on experience, real time feedback and mentorship from top industry leaders. During the internship, you will be given a project (or multiple projects) relevant to the success of the business, and there will be the opportunity to share your project work with your business at the end of your term. Opportunities exists nationwide within our diverse Grain business.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
This internship will provide students an opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to a sales, risk management, and grain origination environment. Students will gain hands-on experience working on business projects within our sales and origination function, working with grain producers over the phone and on the farm. Responsibilities may include assisting Farm Marketers, Origination Specialists, and other personnel in identifying and developing customer solutions and services as well as Regional grain origination objectives.

Environment:
·       Team oriented, fast-paced and hands-on.
·       Plant or office setting.
·       Frequent travel by personal vehicle within assigned region for meetings. You must have a safe driving history; a motor vehicle record history will be reviewed.

Internship Programming:
·       Cargill offers both housing assistance and relocation reimbursement to interns who qualify (based on mileage).
·       Internships are paid and are at least 12 weeks in duration.
  • Day-to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
·       Attend Intern Forum, an event held at Cargill headquarters in Minneapolis, MN, designed to give exposure to leadership and cross-functional interns from across the U.S.
·       Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year.

Job Locations:
·       Various U.S. locations throughout the Midwest.

Required Qualifications:
·       Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program graduating between December 2020 and Summer 2022.
  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in the U.S.
  • Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June - August 2020)
·       Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance

 
Preferred Qualifications:
·       Minimum 3.0 GPA
·       Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
·       Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with ability to influence decision-making.
·       Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
