2019 Summer MS/MBA Internship - Continuous Improvement

Position Overview:
As an MBA intern, you will have the unique opportunity to be fully integrated into the Rent the Runway business from the ground level. You will gain a holistic picture of how we have transformed the fashion industry and continue to scale our Reserve business unit while simultaneously building innovative subscription models (RTR Update and RTR Unlimited).
You will dive right into the meaty business problems we are all here to solve - and be part of timely initiatives that are incredibly relevant. Your voice will be heard and your impact will be felt. With opportunities across department such as finance, marketing, analytics, planning, retail, product, you will be immersed into your assigned department but also gain exposure to various disciplines for a truly holistic view of our business.
Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership from day one; jumpstart your post-MBA career as a full-fledged part of our business, immediately owning critical projects, joining cross functional teams, supporting major decisions and liaising with departments across the company
  • Take a proactive role in your assigned department by contributing thoughtful and valuable work, taking ownership of assigned tasks, and collaborating with peers and business leaders
  • Own various tasks based on department assignments spanning functions such as: strategic planning, financial analysis, customer insights, project execution, research and analysis etc.
  • Be challenged to find innovative solutions to unique business challenges and continuously evolving needs, constantly iterating and learning as you go
 Qualifications:
  • MBA candidate from a top program (expected graduation in late 2019 or 2020)
  • Availability to work 40 hours a week in our office for 10 weeks from June 10-August 16, 2019
  • Pre-MBA experience in applicable discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Management Science, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration etc.);
  •  Master’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field is a plus
  • 1-3 years of related experience in a continuous improvement for technology, e-commerce, supply chain operations or similar rol
  • Experience with Data Analysis along with Knowledge of Analytical Problem solving methods and tools including Statistical Hypothesis testing, Optimization heuristics, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Lean, Simulation, Queueing Analysis, etc; Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus
  • Scrappy, roll up your sleeves approach to problem solving
  • Proven ability and excitement around functioning in a fast paced environment
