Pest Control Technician / Orchard Technician

The Orchard Technician acts as backup to the Pest Control Manager and supports Bear Creek's Integrated Pest Management/Organic program. The Technician will produce and maintain necessary documentation to comply with pesticide regulatory requirements. This position will assist with developing tools for tracking and managing the pest control data and support field operations through process review, training, and observations.

  • Direct or assist workers in treatment or extermination processes to eliminate or control disease, insects, or weeds.
  • Coordinate work activities with Production Services Manager; record work activities performed.
  • Assist Production Services Manager with maintaining invoice tracking and monthly enterprise allocation.
  • Provide support for developing new tools data management system.
  • Support data flow; improve record distribution and management.
  • Assist in Organic and SQF certification programs.
  • Work with Field Services team to determine pest populations and identify infestation source.
  • Provide Quality Control assistance during harvest.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of 2 years post High School training in biological/horticultural systems. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience in similar position required.
  • Pest Control Advisor License or ability to obtain in first year of employment required.
  • Bi-lingual reading, writing and speaking proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of Intergrated Pest Management Principle for Agricultural crops
  • Experience with iCropTrack or other data management system preferred.
  • Basic inventory and accounting knowledge preferred.
