Recreational Therapist Legacy Unit

The Utah State Hospital is seeking a licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with a passion for helping others, and experience working with mentally ill and disabled adults on the LEGACY unit.

We are recruiting for a Licensed Recreational Therapist for the LEGACY unit!
 
Principle Duties
The Recreational Therapist is typically responsible to:
  • perform recreational therapy assessments.
  • implement recreational therapy programs for individual patients.
  • prepare and recommend therapeutic recreation activities.

The Ideal Candidate
 Our applicant of choice is:
  • must be licensed as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) or Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS) with the UTAH Division of Occupational Professional Licensing (DOPL) in the State of Utah.
  • experienced working with mentally ill individuals in an inpatient setting.
  • independent, reliable and intrinsically motivated to teach and assist others.
  • experienced in the planning and execution of leisure/recreational activities for adults.
