Industrial Specialist

As an Industrial Specialist GS-1150-07 with DLA, duties will be performed under the guidance of a higher graded specialist or supervisor and will include, but may not be limited to:
  • Analyzing a variety of contracts, purchase orders, specifications, technical orders, change orders and related controlling guides to be used in planning and maintaining technical surveillance over DoD contractors' production operations;
  • Providing technical support to negotiations, gaining experience in developing plans to determine material requirements and/or schedules for production management;
  • Gathering market data of supplier attributes for a senior specialist to determine the ability of suppliers to control their marketplace, researching performance histories of products a supplier produces and identifying products which could be produced if the need arises;
  • Performing readiness analysis to stable items that are important to the war fighter, but do not require significant changes in production or facilities; and,
  • Participating in the Industrial Preparedness Planning Program (IPPP) functions, dealing with the readiness of our Nation's industrial base to rapidly surge the production levels of DLA managed military material and supplies to meet defense mobilization needs.
ABOUT THE POSITION: This is an Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (AT&L) Workforce Position IAW 10 USC Section 1721 and regulations issued by the Under Secretary of Defense for AT&L. AT&L Cat/Career Field - Industrial and/or Contract Property Management (D) / IND. AT&L Career Field Certification Level 1.
