Job Purpose
The Waiter is directly responsible for serving all guests in varying dining venues. Depending on vessel, the Waiter may also be responsible for setting up of food and beverage.
Duties & Responsibilities
 Serves meals to patrons according to established rules of etiquette, working in formal setting - presents menu to diner, suggests dinner courses, appropriate wines, and answers questions regarding food preparation.
 Relays orders to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
 Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
 Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
 Will attend all daily line-up meetings.
 Will strictly adhere to the order of service as designated by the Maitre d’.
 Ensure the proper set-up of all work stations.
 Arrange, set-up and break down all buffet stations.
 Polish chafing dishes, silverware, glasses, mirrors and all else needing to be spot-free.
 Offers bread and beverage service to passengers in all dining areas.
 Setting tables with proper condiments.
 Arrangement of dining room tables and chairs.
 Expediting food from galley to wait staff in dining area.
 Assist wait staff in delivering and serving food and beverages,

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
o HS Diploma or Equivalent Required

Professional Certification(s) or License:
o Valid Server Permit
o Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) – if applicable, and/or ability to obtain and maintain
o Copy of DD214, if Veteran status

Experience:
o At least 2 years of experience in position with similar duties and responsibilities
o Fine dining experience required
o Cruise industry experience preferred

Other:
o Must be at least 21 years of age.
o Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.
