Emergency Management Specialist

FEMA Reservists are incident management responders, who are a significant factor in the agency workforce in responding to disasters. These employees deploy to perform activities directly related to disasters, emergencies, projects, or activities of a non-continuous nature.
In this position, you will support the Recovery Support Functions (RSF) and Interagency Recovery Coordination (IRC) Advisors in administrative, logistical, and operational requirements in interpreting and implementing the National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF) and Recovery Federal Interagency Operational Plan (FIOP) principles, concepts, and expectations outcomes.
Typical assignments include:
- Supporting the establishment of internal and external coordination structures and the organizational development of a broad coordination structure at tribal, State, and local fields;
- Identifying and coordinating human, financial, and collateral resources that support Recovery Coordination Mission;
- Facilitating group processes that contribute to achieving Recovery Coordination mission objectives and ensuring support of the communication strategy and message delivery.
- Scheduling, coordinating and facilitating in-person and virtual meetings using multiple communications platforms as VTC, webinar, GIS, PowerPoint, spreadsheets and document editing on Microsoft Word.
