Marketing Database Manager

The Database Marketing Manager manages the development, design, execution, and analysis of the database marketing programs including direct mail, email, mobile app, SMS, website and social media initiatives.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manages database maintenance and direct mail operation to include internal and prospect list procurement.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of all marketing activities, creating and analyzing reports for tracking of business results and ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintains list management activities to include direct mail list requests, report requests and query requests.
  • Performs analysis on the customer database in order to appropriately segment and target various markets for promotional, direct mail, e-mail and social media campaigns.
  • Measures the cost effectiveness of direct mail, social media and all other marketing campaigns and make recommendations on improving the return on investment or the elimination of future campaigns.
  • Analyzes player revenue trends, using surveys and player frequency information.
  • Informs management of new or existing postal rules or regulations and their impact on operations.
  • Schedules and oversees regular data hygiene procedures.
  • Creates custom reports.
  • Reports to management all issues that will impact on-time completion and quality goals of assigned data base.
  • Corresponds with vendors, agencies and other departments as required to complete tasks and projects.
  • Assists in marketing coordination throughout the property as needed.
  • Assists internal and external customers with event and promotion information.
  • Set up direct marketing programs within all promotional systems.
  • Works with all vendors to ensure accuracy of all outgoing correspondence and offers.
  • Ensures compliance with casino wide and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Provides prompt, courteous guest service at all times following the casino’s guest service standards.
  • Participates in and supports all guest service training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proven experience as a data manager
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern database and information systems technologies
  • Proficient in MS Office and SQL
  • Analytical mindset with problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Marketing, Computer Science or related field from an accredited four year college or university
  • Three (3) years experience in database marketing and data analysis with strong background utilizing multiple databases and business intelligence/reporting tools to manage data and reports; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
