Project Manager - Environmental Restoration

We are looking for professionals who have a passion for restoring the natural environment, enjoy working outdoors, and learning land management techniques in a variety of habitats. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of habitat/ecosystem restoration projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. You will also manage all aspects of complex projects from inception to conclusion.

Expectations:
As a Project Manager (PM) at EarthBalance, your job is to bid and win work, manage the execution of your projects safely and profitably, manage client expectations so are asked back to do more work. You are willing to learn the business aspects of managing projects, understand the importance of accurately communicating work-in-progress to upper management, own your project's performance, and provide leadership to crew members who are the backbone of our business.

Duties:
  • Lead the planning and implementation of assigned habitat/ecosystem restoration projects.
  • Provide direction and support to the Assistant Project Managers, crew, or other staff that may be assigned to the project.
  • Responsible for project execution including project planning, status, schedule, budget, and quality control.
  • Review daily progress reports and check in as necessary with onsite project leader to successfully complete projects.
  • Quality control and safety inspections of projects.
  • Respond to inquiries about projects.
  • Provide highly skilled technical management advice and assistance to Assistant Project Managers and Crew Supervisors.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Biology, or related field, strongly preferred.
  • PMP Certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in project management in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • This position requires travel to and from jobs, as well as overnight stays in and outside the state of Florida that may last five days or more.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Herbicide applicator license Category 5A and 21, or the ability to obtain said license within 60 days of hire.

Work Environment:
This position will require both field work to check on projects, driving/traveling to projects and pre-bids, and project management work in the office. When in the field, most of the duties of are performed using 4X4's, ATV's, swamp buggies, airboats, skiffs, and other specialized equipment. You will be constantly moving through uneven terrain, wetlands, beaches, mangroves, and other types of natural environments.
