The CELL Special Projects Intern provides critical project support, assisting with various CELL events and programs and conducts critical research to inform the development of CELL training initiatives, exhibit content and presentations. As a CELL Intern, you will participate in a dynamic experience that provides exposure to leaders in the public safety, political, business and international relations communities. You will receive valuable professional and hands on experience in the non-profit arena. You will also be part of the launch of the CELL’s newly redesigned and state of the art facility which addresses pressing national and global security issues.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts in-depth research on topics related to domestic and international terrorism, homeland security and international relations
  • Summarizes complex research topics to be implemented into CELL training initiatives, exhibit content, and presentations
  • Assists with the delivery of various presentations, trainings and exhibit tours to diverse audiences
  • Supports project managers in coordinating schedules and milestones for CELL events and programs
  • Assists with documentation and other project deliverables
  • Helps with coordinating logistics, updating internal and external documents, and preparing/organizing supplies and materials
  • Assists with development and production of CELL training materials and presentations
  • Communicates with staff about progress towards major project milestones, giving regular reports to management
  • Maintains relationships with and provides timely communication to all key partners and stakeholders
  • Other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications
  • Upper-level Bachelor’s student or graduate student in a related field preferred
  • Experience with project management or coordination strongly preferred
  • Passion for and experience in security studies, international relations and current events
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Outstanding writing, presentation, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently summarize complex research requirements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, professional environment a plus
  • Highly motivated, positive, flexible, and proactive team player is a must

Hours and Salary
This is a paid internship. Interns should be able to dedicate 20-25 hours a week during office hours, ideally on two to three full 8-hour days. Some weekends and evenings will be required for assistance staffing CELL programs.
