Customer Planning & Strategy Intern (Summer 2020)

Summary of Role
The Customer Planning & Strategy Intern will be aide and assist the Customer Planning & Strategy team in achieving their primary responsibility – to drive sales growth at the co-op from new distribution at retail. This intern will also take an elevated role in coordinating the co-op’s annual Sales Rally. Critical to this role will be the reliance on working with Cross-Functional partners throughout the co-op. This intern will have a wide variety of departments that they will interact with – and in turn will understand virtually every function that enables our sales team to drive distribution across our key retailers. Those departments include Brand Marketing, Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, and Category Strategy & Insights.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Support CP&S team with DSMP (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing) tracking and key performance updates.  
o Assist CP&S team with their cross-functional work to develop and deliver world class selling materials. Work with Sales and Marketing teams to identify needs, gather requirements, compile information, and ensure timely delivery of finished product. 
o Lead coordinator for our annual National Sales Rally, assisting with logistics, event planning, content creation and more to ensure a successful event. 
o Act as communication liaison for CP&S, helping to drive clear communication, priorities, and action with Sales and Brand teams. 
o Expertly manage special projects and provide assistance to CP&S team throughout internship. Ensure timely delivery of all program deliverables. 
o Help the team meet its objectives, live the values and culture and practice company policies.
 
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required; working towards degree in Business preferred. 
o Strong oral and written communication skills. 
o Proficient with Microsoft Office programs required.
o Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities effectively.
o Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
o Strong organizational and time management skills.
o Has a figure-it-out attitude and is not afraid to ask questions. 
o Interest in organic and working with farmers and cooperative business model preferred.
