Technical Writer

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for over six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

SDL is seeking a technical writer to assist the program team in developing program contract deliverables and a variety of other software and hardware documentation. This position is full-time and is located onsite in North Logan, UT. Qualified applicants must submit a cover letter and resume.

·   Researching, writing, formatting, and editing contract deliverables, including reports and presentations

·   Supporting the development of test plans and procedures

·   Attending program review meetings and customer meetings to capture action items and minutes

·   Assisting with tracking program requirements as needed, including software and hardware documentation output, technical requirements documents, etc. 

·   BS degree in technical writing, English, or a related field

·   Experience producing user manuals, test plans/procedures, technical and status reports, and other professional technical documentation

·   Proficiency in MS Office

·   Ability to be proactive and work effectively with little direct supervision

·   Ability to work productively alone and in a team

·   Excellent written communication skills

·   Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to follow up and close the loop

·   Ability to meet tight deadlines, and assess, understand, and document technical and engineering concepts

·   Ability to assess deadlines, set individual priorities, and maintain flexibility when priorities shift, sometimes unexpectedly

·   Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance

·   Must be a US citizen
