Retail Operations Merchandiser

Our company is in need of a full-time Retail Operations Merchandiser (ROM).The Retail Operations Merchandiser will be responsible for working with our retail team to make sure that the sales floor shelves attract attention and the warehouse shelves are fully stocked. They will also offer customer service to our retail store owners by answering questions, tracking down lost orders, getting franchisee(s) the products, they need and resolving potential paperwork issues.
 
Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance franchisee(s) expectations and company’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with franchisee to create attractive sales floor displays and make sure that or product is prominently displayed. Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately.
  • Assist franchisee(s) in creating an organized warehouse that allows for easier product accessibility.
  • Monitor franchisee(s) warehouse inventory levels and submit comprehensive inventory report each week.
  • Produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory. Monitors inventory of assigned merchandise to ensure that stock is available to provide timely and efficient service.
  •  Acts as the liaison between franchisee(s) and the company by addressing franchisee(s) issues and solving franchisee(s) problems. Maintains franchisee(s) relationships by visiting with store managers, department managers, and employees.
  • Prioritizes and expedites high-demand and special orders.
  • Tracks movement and delivery of anticipated merchandise inventory using websites, applications, or inventory systems.
  • Facilitates paperwork and recordkeeping required for the distribution center to send, receive, and process merchandise.
  • Resolves issues that may affect shipment and receipt of goods.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with inventory management software, applications, and/or systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
Work Environment: This job operates in a retail business environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
 
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to lift and or move objects up to 25 pounds.  
 
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary by schedule. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demands.
 
Travel: Travel is expected for this position (25% - 50%). Occasionally some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected for this position.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retailing, Marketing or related field is preferred.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience.
  • Retail or Merchandising experience at the store level is preferred.
  • Prior experience with maintaining customer relationships or clients is a plus.
