Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is the largest center of this kind in Colorado. We treat thousands of mammals, birds, and waterfowl representing over 200 different wildlife species annually.
2 positions are opened for this rare opportunity geared towards veterinary students interested in wildlife, zoo, exotic medicine and wanting to gain hands-on experience working with licensed rehabilitators.
Interns will learn skills such as handling techniques, habitat enrichment, diets and food preparation, feeding methods, and more. They will have the chance to spend 2 weeks in our Mammal and Bird intake/triage and, when available, to attend wildlife rounds with our Veterinary Consultant: Dr. Alison Hazel.

Duration
¨ June 1st to July 31st 2020
Requirements
¨ CSU 1st or 2nd year veterinary students ONLY
¨ Proof of up-to-date tetanus AND pre-exposure rabies vaccination
¨ Min 20 hrs./week for the full length of the internship
¨ Ability to work night/morning shifts, weekend shifts, and
holidays is required
¨ IMPORTANT: This internship is NOT intended to teach veterinary medicine techniques.
