URUS Global Development Intern

Position Objective
Internship start date: June 1, 2020 and will conclude on or around August 31, 2020.
 
URUS is seeking a Global Development Intern to work closely with the team members in the GENEX company and dairylearning.com division to build courses that educate international dairy producers. The intern will be responsible for researching dairy training needs, building business plans, creating engaging content for eLearning, and testing efficacy of training.
 
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Research primary eLearning topics of interest for dairy farmers in developing countries
  • Global travel to emerging markets
  • Determine delivery methods for eLearning for small farmers in developing countries
  • Work with dairylearning.com Manager to develop the business model (pricing and revenues) to build eLearning content and deliver to dairy farmers in developing countries
  • Evaluate how URUS product education can be delivered through eLearning courses
  • Deliver final eLearning courses directly applicable to farmers in the target global markets
  • Pilot the courses and collect feedback from early adopters
  • Work with multiple managers to build and complete final project report

Qualifications
  • Students enrolled full-time in a major U.S. university or a recent graduate with a B.S. degree in Animal Science, Global Resource Systems, Ag Education, Business, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel to development countries
  • Able to adapt to cultural diversity and environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion
  • Entrepreneurial minded and able to think creatively and build intuitive structure to systems and workflows
  • Has a current passport and U.S. driver's license
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred
  • Willingness to grow and develop both personally and professionally
