Graphic Design Summer Intern

Description:
If you want to have an opportunity to produce a lot of content, work semi-independently, and see your work utilized, this is the opportunity for you! This position offers the most unique, fun yet demanding, and rewarding atmosphere in which a student could spend their summer. This is a position that will support all aspects of resort operations in creating, editing, and printing customer-facing assets and marketing materials.
The student will work with resort leadership to learn our operations and technology and then will be tasked with updating current or creating new content. The number of signs, menus, and marketing materials that will be produced will give the student much opportunity to display creative talents, work cooperatively with others, and see their work displayed to more than 500,000 guests every year.
 
Duration:
May 2020–August 2020. Additional flexible dates are available for local candidates. We are able to support remote work beginning immediately until student can arrive on site.
 
Specific duties:
• Provide support for all aspects of the amusement park, water park, campground, and hotel
• Maintenance of in-park point-of-sale marketing
• Identify new opportunities for improving sales and marketing
• Participate in regular planning meetings
• Work directly with owners and department heads to accomplish tasks
• Participate in social activities with international college students
 
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, and especially Illustrator
• Independent worker who can work without constant supervision
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle stress
• Commitment to production schedules and deadlines
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Excellent time management
• Attention to detail and accuracy, spelling and grammar
• Fast producer who can generate content and product quickly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong understanding of branding and the role of visual elements
• Excellent listening skills
• Able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Prepared to work weekends and holidays
• Quick learner of our culture and equipment
• Lift and carry up to 50lbs
 
 
Majors:
Graphic Design, Marketing with Graphic Design emphasis, Commercial and Advertising Art
 
Details:
• $10.50/hour
• Five days a week, roughly 9am-5pm
• 40-45 hours a week during park season, no time-and-a-half
• Ability to work 50+ hours if desired
• Students selected for this position will work 500+ hours during the spring and summer
• Flexible starting and ending dates
