Program Overview
Summer Internship (for current juniors):
The Summer Internship Program at Niagara is unique in that interns work directly on high impact projects within one of our HQ departments. Interns will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where they will be asked to be a key part of our operations. During this 10-12 week full-time internship, participants are encouraged to think outside the box and use a continuous improvement mindset to approach projects and come up with solutions. Interns get the opportunity to network as a part of our talent pipeline and potentially return in the future apart of our rotational program or full-time job!

Example Project in Cost Accounting:

  • One project is around our recycle and destruction process. It will involve reconciling plant recycle loads to recycler invoices vs payments received. Our goal is to calculate actual vs expected and identify why there is a difference. Analyze the data (billings, invoices, accounts receivable data), and estimate how much money has been saved through the new process. We recycle as much as product as possible from the plants, within the process we changed the process, but we still have to re-invoice some items in Oracle. From the original invoice internally and from the actual pay-out, determining the difference between what we were paid and what we imagined we were going to be paid, and explaining why the difference.
