FORESTRY BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES EDUCATION INTERNSHIP
Salary 11.54/hr
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA), Business Development Division is seeking an administrative intern for the summer of 2020 (May 18 - July 31). The internship will allow the chosen candidate to learn about the agricultural and forestry industry in Tennessee as well as an overview of the multiple programs offered by TDA to assist in the economic growth of Tennessee.
Responsibilities:
Develop an Itinerary & Plan for BMP Demonstration:
  • Work with East Tennessee foresters to identify areas of interest regarding BMP Practices
  • Develop educational materials based on the identified areas of interest
  • Possible areas of interest
  • Poor vs Good Land management Practices
  • Road Construction Planning
  • Cost Share opportunities within the Department of Agriculture
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma
  • Forestry education & forest herbicide application experience a plus but not a required
  • Essential Knowledge and Required Skills:
Computer Experience (Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Adobe)
