An integral part of this approach is the integration and alignment of school- and community-based services, The School Based Mental Health Program. 
The School Based Mental Health/Wellness program functions in full partnership with families to make a life-altering difference to children, youth & families affected by abuse, neglect and delinquency. We cultivate a strong evidenced-based practice, supported by clear goals, plans with universal, selective and targeted services, , so our children and families can succeed.  

About the Position 
The School Based Mental Health program at PS/MS 123 seeks a licensed Clinical Coordinator to manage the overall functioning of the Graham Wellness unit through direct management and supervision of staff and monitoring the business operations of the program, including carrying a small caseload of students. The Clinical Coordinator will ensure that universal, selective and targeted services as developed in the annual school partnership work plan is complete. This includes chart documentation and daily operation functioning- outreach, counseling, groups, crisis response, and at risk support. He/she is responsible for providing direct supervision to a Licensed School Social Worker, Clinician and social work/mental health interns to ensure evidenced based practices(trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), trauma systems therapy (TST),motivational interviewing, play therapy, and harm reduction are utilized with the administration of standardized assessments. This active and critical thinker will work alongside the School Building Leadership and on site Graham managers to ensure that outreach, programming and services, including professional development opportunities for faculty and staff are in place that meet the needs of students and families.  

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • With the guidance and support of the Grahams Mental Health Leadership and Director, the Clinical Coordinator will: 
  •  Manage the hiring, development and training of Wellness staff and interns.  
  • Oversee the assignment of daily task management- crisis response, outreach, group therapy, screenings and caseloads.  
  • Carry a small caseload of up to 10 clients. 
  •  Responsible for quality compliance and risk management functions 
  • Work in partnership with our host school and other care management organizations, including other internal Graham programs to create seamless support and social- emotional services, provided during and after school, including home visits. 
  • Conduct informal assessments to classes and targeted groups to provide interventions according to findings and trends. 
  • Attend required meetings including those hosted by the Office of Mental Health, Office of School Health, partnership Think Tanks in order to develop appropriate interventions and protocols that support the needs of the school community. 
  • Co-chair the host school weekly Student Support Group in order to support students with social- emotional challenges and apply appropriate interventions.  
  •  Create and monitor a school community outreach plan to bolster service and ensure that a minimum of 50 students are serviced with counseling. 
  • Plan, implement and facilitate faculty and staff professional development and the Network model to students at risk or reintegrating into the school environment from suspension 
  •  Partner with the school community on special events. 
  •  Represent the agency on relevant external committees and work groups.  
  • Complete and compile program statistics and reports monthly.  
  • Ensure compliance with licensure, contract and private foundation requirements (i.e. the Office of Mental health, Joint Commissions, Medicaid/Mental health /Hygiene and the New York City Department of Health). 

Qualifications: 
  • Professional Licensure and/or Certification as required by program regulations and standards (LMHC, LCSW, LMSW)  
  • (3+) years direct experience working with youth and families in the mental health field 
  •  Previous experience supervising mental health and social work professionals/interns. 
  • Prior clinical experience with children/adolescents/families 
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to create and manage services for multiple stakeholders including children and adults. 
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  •  Practical and strong decision making skills. 
  •  Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred
