Behavior Specialist

Sample Supports is looking for a trained Behavior Specialist to utilize independent judgment and discretion in assessing and implementing effective behavior programming for adults with developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for helping create clinical behavior plans, providing training and consult to those implementing the plans, and providing ongoing behavior counseling directly to the client.

Schedule Expectations:

Flexible and independent schedule to include primarily daytime hours. Position entails availability for crisis situations, and some evenings and weekends may be required as emergent needs arise.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Provide individual counseling supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, ABA, and DBT
Services provided include but are not limited to: consultation, counseling, line services, and assessments
Provides direct client services to individuals on caseload as needed to ensure their health, safety and overall quality of life is maintained
Effectively manage paperwork and files for clients and providers/employees according to high program standards, regulations and auditing requirements
Ability to facilitate agency behavior assessments and create comprehensive clinical behavioral treatment plans
Evaluates and provides therapeutic intervention for clients using verbal communication and appropriate curriculum according to client's level of cognitive functioning
Provide consistent and skilled intervention for behaviors and issues related to developmental disabilities, mental health and trauma histories
Maintain successful communication with all team members and establishing a comprehensive case management approach, establishing the agency as a primary member
Maintaining positive rapport with clients, and providers

Qualifications:

BSW or similar required
MSW or similar preferred
Ability to effectively work independently with minimal supervision
Clinical experience, preferably in the IDD field
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be competent and willing to perform Non-Violent Crisis Intervention physical managements as trained
Able to perform the physical demands of the position
Due to the nature of the work performed at People Power PEO, and that this position works with an at risk population, we do require a criminal background check be completed.

$41,600
