The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is looking for a Head Accountant to manage the accounting and reporting of fiscal data directly related to legislation, budget, cost, and financial forecasting.

The Division of Accounting and Disbursements is a talented and highly committed team, dedicated to providing excellent customer service and fulfilling the fiduciary responsibility to ensure that public funds for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) are properly disbursed, accounted for, and reported.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead a team of professional, technical, and clerical employees while managing a variety of complex accounting issues involving advanced governmental accounting theory and practice. The candidate relishes the pace and pressures of both large and small scale technical challenges, and welcomes the opportunity to find creative and innovative solutions to problems with bright, motivated colleagues and staff. A commitment to the accounting field as demonstrated by a history of consistent, progressive, professional advancement and accomplishments is highly desired.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, auditing, finance, or a related field, including 20 semester units or equivalent quarter units in accounting.
Four years of professional-level experience in accounting, field-auditing, or analysis of financial systems and forecasting with two years of supervision of professional accounting personnel.
