Performance Programs Coordinator

Performance Programs Coordinator

The American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) is now accepting applications for Performance
Programs Coordinator. The position is based in Lincoln, Nebraska. This position is responsible
for facilitating AGA data collection programs, assisting in the growth of the Gelbvieh and
Balancer breed, and member education efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of beef cattle industry and seedstock production
  • Proficient in communicating with cattle ranchers, farmers and agriculture industry professionals
  • Understanding of animal breeding and genetics
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Customer service minded
  • Must be reliable, dependable and a self-starter
  • Willingness to travel (up to 40-60% required)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate AGA data collection projects including carcass data collection
  • Member and customer education through travel and educational events as well development of educational material. Education may include but is not limited to EPDs, selections tools, AGA programs and services, and utilizing the AGA Online Registry Service.
  • Attend sales and assist bull customers in genetic selection.
  • Travel to commercial producers, production sales, and industry events.
  • Facilitate and grow demand for the AGA’s commercial cowherd database (Smart Select Service).
  • Write 8-10 articles per year for the AGA’s Gelbvieh World and Profit Picture publications.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor or master’s degree (preferred) in one of the following disciplines:
  • Animal Science
  • Animal Breeding/Genetics
