Purposes:
This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager or designated mentor.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on need. The intern will work on projects primarily dealing with food safety and product quality. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.
Qualifications:
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution pursuing a food science, food engineering, food technology, food chemistry or food safety degree. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
Worthiness Qualification:
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
Posting Notice:
The internship is for 15-28 hours/week. The hours worked must be completed between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The internship desired length is 6 months to a year. The internship is located at the Welfare Services Quality Assurance Laboratory located at Welfare Square at 751 West 700 South, SLC, UT
