GPS Foundational Data Specialty Chemical Data Steward

The Specialty Chemical Data Steward (SCDS) is part of the Global Product Stewardship (GPS) Organization's Foundational Data core capability. The GPS organization includes Regulatory and Safety (Human and Environmental). The data stewards are responsible for obtaining raw material compositional information from manufacturers, including specific data requirements for polymers and botanical/natural substances. These data are foundational for GPS Assessment. 
The primary responsibility of this role will be to use organic chemistry knowledge to facilitate data collection from raw material manufacturers for polymers and botanical/natural substances. The SCDS will also partner with the sector toxicologists and regulatory affairs managers to optimize the data items required for each material type. The ideal candidate will obtain and enter raw material data into the GPS application with accuracy and efficiency meeting timelines. 
A Bachelors or Masters degree organic chemistry is required.
Required skills are extraordinary attention to detail, organization skills, communication (listening, written, and verbal), accurate data entry, effective time management, attention to detail, and the ability to be a team player. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to form effective and collaborative relationships. 
Extraordinary attention to detail and organizational skills - the successful candidate will need to track multiple raw material requests and manage the workload effectively while managing competing priorities. 
Data entry skills - the successful candidate will review data received for quality before being accurately and efficiently entered in GPS applications. Although on the job data entry training will be provided, previous data review and entry experience is beneficial. Demonstrated proficiency using computer system applications is desired.
Teamwork - the ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to form effective and collaborative relationships, internal and external to their organization. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate, communicate, and operate within a cross functional and global team.
The candidate will have effective written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will also have the ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities. 
Preferred but not required - experience with polymers/botanicals, use of SciFinder, ability to communicate in Mandarin as well as English.
