Surfactant Technology Development Scientist - PhD

The successful candidate will be responsible to develop a pipeline of surfactant technologies for P&Gs detergent products like Tide and Dawn. P&G has a long and successful history of surfactant development and application to consumer products. This role is tasked to build on that success and develop cost effective surfactant solutions to further improve the performance of our products and their environmental and sustainability profile. To do this he/she will learn about industrial chemistry and economics and about applying surfactant science to consumer products. This position will have access to experts with decades of surfactant development experience. To do this job he/she will interact with senior surfactant scientists, synthetic chemists, mathematical and molecular modelers, suppliers, and P&G's detergent formulations and process engineers. 
 
The role will consist of:
    * Developing technical ideas and designing technical programs to evaluate, prioritize, and improve them
    * Working in multi-functional teams to fully commercialize successful technologies
    * Developing intellectual property around new technologies
    * Counseling management on research trends and developments in area of expertise
    * Using mastery and data to seek out non-obvious project and technology connections and anticipate technical issues
 
 
We are looking for someone with a PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
 
It is required that the candidate has some specialization in one or more of the following areas:
 
    * Colloid & Surface Science
    * Surfactant chemistry
    * Surfactant-Polymer interactions
    * Industrial chemistry and feedstocks related to Surfactants
 
It would be advantageous if the candidate has any of the following skills:
    * Experience working at the interface between modeling and experimental teams
    * Statistical and/or molecular modeling
    * Green chemistry
    * Computer science
    * Organic synthesis
    * Economic analysis of processes
    * Petrochemical industry experience (e.g. internship)
