GIS Analyst II
GIS Analysts are responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting all administrative aspects of an agencys enterprise geographic information system (GIS). As a member of the GIS team within the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR) Hydrology Section, the incumbent will perform operational support tasks such as: Map Water Right locations; Design and maintenance of enterprise geodatabases; Provide GIS Technical support; Create professional maps for field work, wall display and mobile devices; Construct and administer Web GIS applications and services; Document workflows and provide GIS training; Implement NDWR data governance model; Design and implement mapping solutions to meet the needs of miscellaneous division projects and perform quality assurance and quality control of datasets. The incumbent will use Public Land Survey System data to locate groundwater wells and places of use in support of water rights mapping. ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop are the standard desktop client software used for NDWR GIS efforts. Experience with these and open-source software, scripting, tool development and integration, and/or map customization is desired. Experience with environmental monitoring, assessment, modeling or permitting is desired but not a requirement for the position. In a continuing effort to keep up with GIS technology, the incumbent will attend GIS training and conferences as NDWR resources allow. While experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and Online is preferred, the GIS team is seeking applicants who are interested in learning and applying GIS enterprise management.
