Bureau of Investigation Chief

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under administrative direction of the Deputy Inspector General, serves as Chief of the Bureau of Investigation, Cook County Region. Plans, directs and coordinates, through subordinate section supervisors, the activities of Cook County Region investigations; assigns cases and monitors the progress of OIG investigations and reviews, which includes reviewing investigations of allegations of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, deaths, or serious injuries in State-operated facilities and community agencies. Develops, coordinates and tracks appropriate training of all investigative staff, searches for and implements new and innovative methods to improve the quality of the investigatory process; recommends investigative policies and procedures relating to OIG management. Serves as liaison to the appropriate investigative personnel. Serves as full-line supervisor to investigate and support staff. 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college with course work in business or public administration. Requires three years progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private organization. Of the three years of progressively responsible administrative experience, requires three years of investigating administrative, civil or criminal charges and the production of case reports in reference to such.

8:30 am – 5:00 pm (M-F)
Anticipated Started Salary Range – $90,000- $96,000
